About Me, My Approach and Areas of Focus
Who is Jeremy Siemens
Registered Psychologist
I grew up in Alberta, spending most of my life in Edmonton and Calgary. I spent many years working at non-profit agencies including Vecova, The Mustard Seed, and the Canadian Mental Health Association—valuable experience that shaped my clinical approach. I am a Registered Psychologist in Alberta, providing online therapy across the province. I am also a Registered Clinical Counsellor in BC, having relocated to the beautiful mountain town of Cranbrook.
My therapeutic approaches are informed by Person-Centered Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Emotion Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR. I also draw on neuroscience, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and strengths-based techniques.
I understand that it can take a lot of courage to try counselling, or to try it again if you didn’t have a great experience in the past. Every client is unique, and my aim is to collaborate with you to tailor an approach that is a good fit. I use a foundation in the science of the brain and nervous system to inform how these affect emotion, behaviour, and how we attach and bond to others. This approach, combined with exploring the importance of your background, beliefs, and experiences, is aimed at creating a safe and therapeutic environment for you.

Individual Counselling
Finding Your Way
Much of life is figuring out who we are, where we are going, and how to navigate the challenges and obstacles that get in the way. Counselling aims to provide a safe and helpful environment to guide and develop this process. Whether you’re trying to plan your goals for the future, overcome your past, or improve how you think and feel in the present, there are a number of ways to help you get there.
Couples Counselling
Strengthening Relationships
Relationships can bring so much joy and healing but also much pain and heartache, especially intimate ones. Learning to love and be loved is a lifelong process, and counselling can help identify our strengths, weaknesses, and the path forward to a stronger bond. Alternatively, if you have already decided to end your relationship, counselling can help you learn from the experience and part ways more amicably, which is particularly important if children are involved.
Police, Military and Veterans
Coping and Healing with Operational Stress
Policing and military service ask things of the nervous system that can be hard to set down— such as constant vigilance, intrusive memories, and critical incident exposure. Many serving in these roles also wrestle with the weight of past decisions made in impossible situations, carrying the moral complexity of actions that haunt them. This can impact relationships and shake your sense of identity.
Whether you’re processing a specific incident, rebuilding a relationship strained by service, or working to understand yourself again, therapy can help. I also provide clinical documentation including progress reports and diagnostic questionnaires when appropriate to your therapeutic plan.
