Life can be stressful. Our natural reactions to an environment which is perceived as unsafe is anxiety. Is your world unsafe? Or do your natural reactions cause you to overestimate the danger in the world? Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy is an evidence-based approach which has been shown to be just as helpful (or more) than medications. Learn some skills which you can use for the rest of your life to gain better control over your anxiety.

Most relationships and marriages begin wonderfully! Unfortunately, many gradually decline. It does not have to be this way–there are methods and tools which can be learned and used which can help couples develop stronger friendships, resolve conflicts through understanding each partners dreams beneath the conflict, and eventually, develop meaningful and mutually authentic shared meaning. I use the Gottman Method for couples therapy which is evidence-based.

Many people find themselves pursuing “success” and “purpose” by following societies or their families values and definitions of what success is. Existential Psychotherapy can help you find out your own self-chosen purpose and meaning which can then help you decide on important life direction decisions in areas including relationships, career, community, time management, and health.

I am passionate about helping people find their authentic selves and intentionally living out THEIR purpose. I love getting to know people and finding their strengths, passions, dreams, and genuine values, helping them live deliberately according to their values.

I believe deeply in the value of spirituality and I am passionate about helping others develop their own spirituality, enhance their spirituality, and utilize their spirituality in order to conquer other life difficulties. This is regardless of what spiritual or religious community they identify with.

Are you a man who struggles with anger and emotion regulation?

Communication and relationship issues with your partner?

Depression from not being able to live up to societal or family pressures?

Porn or sex addictions?

Have you been raised to believe that expressing emotions and vulnerabilities is weakness?

Perhaps you need someone who can really get you and come alongside you through this struggle; finding something worthwhile on the other side.

DEPRESSION (Loneliness, Self-esteem, Guilt & Shame):
Depression can be debilitating: feeling you have no worth, lacking the energy to get things done, not enjoying activities you used to enjoy, and even physiological changes. Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) has been proven to be effective in helping people who are depressed change their unhelpful thinking as well as make positive changes to their environment and activities of daily life.

GRIEF & LOSS
Losses can be very difficult to cope with. They often disrupt our routines including positive and rejuvenating activities and connecting with others who are supportive. My approach involved helping clients discuss, process, and grieve their loss in a supportive, safe, and caring place; helping clients re-connect with supportive friends and family and re-initiate positive activities as well as developing new activities and finding new support. Also, cognitive therapy can be a helpful addition which can be used to help clients develop acceptance and realistic thinking and emotions related to their recent loss.
